Centennial Farms will open on August 2 and 3 and then weekends until September 1. Tomatoes, melons and other vegetables will be ready then and early apples by the end of the month. There will be no blackberries and peaches this year due to the extreme cold in January.
Our cooks have been busy making apple butter and preserves so our market will be stocked with these items as well as Farmers Choice brand pickles, relishes and preserves. We will have limited quantities of honey available since the cold winter was hard on bees as well as fruit.
Our apple crop looks good at this time, although not as heavy as last year. The pick your own season will open in early September and may be somewhat shorter than last year. Pumpkin season starts the last weekend in September.
