Summer Season – July and August
Our first summer crop is blackberries. They start to ripen in mid July and continue late into August. You can pick your own starting about mid July during our regular summer hours of 12 to 5 Tuesday through Sunday (closed Monday). If you prefer to pick in the mornings (cooler?) give us a call to set up a time. (636 228-4338) Picked berries will also be available in the market.
Peaches are what the summer season is all about. We grow 12 different varieties of peaches, which begin to ripen about the first week of July and continue until early September. All of our peaches are sold in the market by the pound and in half pecks (six pounds). We do not have pick your own peaches.
Plums are also in season throughout the summer. We have several varieties of Oriental plums, Italian Prune plums and Damsons. We are expecting our first small crop of Pluots this year (Plum-Apricot cross).
In the summer months we grow a large assortment of vegetables including tomatoes, egg plant, muskmelons and watermelons.
