Apples are ripening at Centennial Farms in Augusta and we will be open for picking starting Saturday Aug. 27 and Sunday Aug. 28. Because of a small crop due to a severe April frost, we will have pick your own only 3 weekends, Aug 27 and 28, Sept 3 and 4 and Sept 10 and 11. There will be no pick your own during the week, but apples will be for sale. We will start with Jonathan and Ruby Jon the first two weekends and finish with Red Delicious, Golden Delicious and Jonagold the third weekend. After this call to see what is available.
Our hours starting Sept 1 are 10 – 5 weekdays and 11 to 5 on Sundays.
You can find our apple butter at Dierberg’s stores and our apple butter and preserves at Geisert’s Farm to You Market in Washington.
We were looking forward to a big apple crop this year, but one night in the lower 20’s during bloom changed that.
